As the twentieth anniversary of Illmatic approaches, Nas is viewing a hip hop industry that has come full circle. While there are a lot of people who are outraged by music from guys like Chief Keef, there was similar outrage against now-legends, such as N.W.A. It’s all a matter of taste.
Embodying young, rich, and out of control, Chief Keef is turning nineteen this year and he’s making $13,000 a month. Not rich by any stretch of the mind, given his age, he is definitely much better off than all his friends. Well, after child support payments, Chief Keef may be.
A lot of people have had a lot to say about Chief Keef and his upbringing since he emerged as a breakout artist. With all of these people talking, Nas has stayed quiet and it turns out that there is a reason for this silence. When Nas spoke to Revolt TV, he was asked about Chief Keef and he defended him and the street life, which he also came up in.
