Chingy talks beef with Nelly, DTP deal not working, and hesitanty with reality show with “Sway In The Morning” [VIDEO]

Chingy SwayBack in the early 2000s, Chingy became one of the biggest breakout artists in the game. His success proved the St. Louis hip hop scene could produce more than one star, with Chingy following the success of Nelly. From 2003 through 2006, Chingy remained one of the hottest rappers in the game.

Chingy started his career with Ludacris and Disturbing Tha Peace, but he was not distributed with Def Jam. Instead, Chingy was placed in a side deal with Capitol Records, but he later did join DTP/Def Jam in 2007. After going through a rough period with them, Chingy reunited with Ludacris.

Over the past few years, Chingy has remained on the mixtape scene. Back in 2012, Chingy talked to Hip Hop Vibe about his current career moves. This morning, he elaborated on these career moves two years later when he stopped by Shade 45 and gave Sway an interview for “Sway In The Morning.”
