Nas talks “Illmatic” 20th anniversary, DJ Premier, Q-Tip, Large Professor, and more with Zane Lowe [AUDIO]

Nas Zane LoweFew would argue that Nas isn’t a legend in hip hop and the reason their argument would seem baseless is due to how he started. When Nas first jumped in the game, he dropped Illmatic, an album even his rivals praised. Most agree, Nas slumped in the 1990s before getting on track, but he set standards his first time out.

Those who grew up when Illmatic was released are beginning to realize just how old they are. This month marks twenty years since Nas released Illmatic and the Queens rapper is still dominating the game. Many of the people who Nas worked with on the album are still doing very well.

Nas recently ventured to London and talked to Zane Lowe for BBC Radio 1 and he spoke on his debut album turning twenty. These twenty years have shown a lot of changes the world has gone through that Nas has mentioned in other albums. But, when Nas talked to Zane Lowe, he discussed his album turning twenty, DJ Premier, Q-Tip, Large Professor, and much more.
