The Notorious B.I.G.’s ghost always sticks around a little longer during this part of the year. Hip hop is still very much stuck on The Notorious B.I.G. and his impact is felt on a daily basis. Coinciding with the anniversary of his death was Rick Ross releasing Mastermind and the “Nobody” single with Diddy and French Montana.

At this point, even Puff Daddy is back and there is another major B.I.G. sample being used with Iggy Azalea. She has come under some heat for sampling “Mo Money, Mo Problems,” but it wasn’t completely her idea. It turns out a hip hop mastermind from the past helped Iggy Azalea out.

This afternoon, Iggy Azalea and T.I. appeared on MTV to talk to Sway for “RapFix Live.” It was here where Iggy Azalea revealed Irv Gotti was of assistance to her, but she only initially intended to sample “I’m Coming Out,” but when Irv got in the mix, he had other plans. It turns out, he had the track with Keyshia Cole already on it for The Other Woman soundtrack and he placed her on it.
