This month is Women’s History Month and this looks like it has not gone unnoticed by Sway Calloway and his team at MTV. Today’s episode of “RapFix Live” was dedicated to the women of hip hop. Behind the scenes, there are a lot of women who are running the game from their respective areas.

In New York, a prominent lady of hip hop is Angie Martinez, the long-tenured radio personality at Hot 97. She also has a name off her rap career, best-known for the 2002 single, “If I Could Go.” Since then, Angie Martinez has primarily relied on her radio career.

Sway invited Angie Martinez to come to “RapFix Live” and this is where they discussed the ladies of hip hop. There are quite a few women who are shaping the hip hop culture and Angie Martinez discussed a few of them. Mona Scott-Young, the executive producer of “Love & Hip Hop,” was mentioned, along with others.
