Ushering in a new generation of Chicago hip hop was Chief Keef and the drill scene is very popular. Close to ten years before, Kanye West breathed new life into Chicago’s hip hop scene and helped Common and Twista make more hits. Kanye West is an ambassador of Chicago hip hop and he has taken to Chief Keef.
The argument can be made that Chief Keef may have never gotten to the level he did without Kanye West. When “I Don’t Like” dropped, several rappers jumped on it with their remixes. But, Kanye West added Pusha T, Big Sean, and Jadakiss to the record and put it on Cruel Summer.
Since then, Kanye West has worked with Chief Keef on Yeezus and he has stayed close to the troubled rapper. Chief Keef has ruffled feathers with certain veterans, mainly 50 Cent, but he and Kanye West seem to be very close. Recently, Chief Keef was chastised by fans for not dropping Bang 3, but he put a picture on Instagram of him and Kanye West in a session working.
