Is Young Thug the next artist to sign with Cash Money Records?

Young Thug 2Turn on the radio and check out the internet, when it comes to the hip hop, a lot of focus is being given to Young Thug. The Atlanta rapper has two hit singles on his hands with “Stoner” and “Danny Glover.” Young Thug is making a big impression on the game and the labels have taken notice.

Young Thug has had a recent run of success and Nicki Minaj remade “Danny Glover,” which is looking like the official remix. Initially, it looked like Nicki Minaj randomly jumped on the “Danny Glover” track. But, now it looks more like a strategic maneuver.

Birdman is always looking for talent to add to Cash Money Records. In 2011, he made the move to bring Maybach Music to the Cash Money umbrella on the heels of them signing Wale and Meek Mill. Despite that deal failing, Birdman did manage to secure DJ Khaled’s We The Best Music Group and the label is adding plenty of talent.

The Cash Money Records subsidiaries are doing well, but the main label hasn’t signed many artists since Caskey joined the label back in 2012. As previously stated, Birdman is always looking to change this and Young Thug would be the perfect candidate to add to the Cash Money roster. Currently, Young Thug is hot in the streets and his music is picking up tons of momentum and he is currently plastered all over Birdman’s Instagram in various photos.

This could mean Birdman and Young Thug are just really good friends, but with him being a hot unsigned artist and hanging out with one of the biggest executives in the game, the question has to be asked. Is Young Thug the next artist to sign with Cash Money Records?
