Every time Kanye West puts out a new album, fans have certain expectations. First, they expect a hit single and then they expect an album immediately in the running for album of the year. None of this happened when Kanye West released Yeezus, although the man himself loves the album.
Instead, Kanye West put out an album that was his worst-performing project critically and commercially. Since then, Kanye West managed to have the second highest-grossing tour of the year of 2013. Later reviews have given Yeezus a more positive rating.
Now, Kanye West has received more commercial success with Yeezus. This evening, the RIAA took to their Twitter with an important update about Kanye West and Yeezus. The album has certified platinum, which is the sixth Kanye West album to go platinum not counting 2012’s Cruel Summer, which was a compilation with G.O.O.D. Music.
