Truly, the rise of Jay-Z is one of those great American stories of entrepreneurship, as he became a self-made millionaire. Coming from where Jay-Z came from in Brooklyn, few could imagine him doing what he did when he was growing up. Now that he has built this empire, Jay-Z always reminds people he was doubted.
Back in 2009, a book was written about Jay-Z called Empire State of Mind, named after his hit single of the same name. The book documented Jay-Z’s business moves and relationships. When the author went to Jay-Z for a quote, he ignored him and went onto do his own book, DECODED.
Now, there is a documentary in the works on Jay-Z, which is also unofficial. The name of this documentary is A Genius Leaves The Hood: The Unofficial Story of Jay-Z. The official trailer for this documentary came out today and it’s said to be highly controversial.
