A bit of a musical marriage has taken place between Los Angeles and Atlanta, with each scene feeding the other. Perhaps the biggest tie is that between Jeezy and YG, which started with Def Jam. Since then, Jeezy signed YG to CTE and it produced a series of hits.

Jeezy and YG definitely gave Yo Gotti a summer hit with “Act Right” and then they repeated their magic with “My Nigga.” Renamed “My Hitta” for radio purposes, the song helped reintroduce YG as a lead artist. Rich Homie Quan does the hook and the outro of the record.

YG talked to Big Mo of Greensboro’s 102 Jamz about his recent run of success. Even though he’s been on the Def Jam roster for some time. He stopped by and he discussed the success of “My Nigga,” his partnership with DJ Mustard, and the West Coast hip hop movement.
