BET is bringing “Rap City” back for a special episode dedicated to Eminem’s “MMLP 2”

When MTV didn’t cover hip hop, BET did and they launched their answer to “Yo! MTV Raps” with “Rap City.” Even though the series lasted much longer, 1989-2007 to be exact, many forever kept the show in the shadow of “Yo!” The show ended, as BET made many programming changes.

It’s not too often when Eminem releases a new album and the internet has aligned itself behind him. Tomorrow, The Marshall Mathers LP 2 will officially be released, even though the album already leaked. In the past, many tried to create outrage when Eminem would be prominently featured on BET.

But, for the sake of hip hop, BET will be bringing “Rap City” back for a special episode coming up on November 7. The special episode will be dedicated to Eminem and the release of The Marshall Mathers LP 2. It will air directly after “106 & Park” later this week.
