During the summer, Fabolous had plans of making a king-like move. For years, Fabolous has talked about rising to the occasion and establishing himself as the king of New York. At Hot 97’s Summer Jam this past year, Fabolous revealed plans of ending the Foxy Brown/Lil’ Kim beef onstage, but that didn’t happen.
A few short months later, Kendrick Lamar’s “Control” verse came out and Fabolous was who people expected to respond. He went hard on Twitter for a couple of days before he blamed Interscope Records on his track not coming out. Plenty of jokes have been shared, but Kendrick Lamar has acted like a king of New York would.
Kendrick Lamar was also present for Hot 97’s Summer Jam 2013 and he let Papoose, his current rival, perform during his set. All the rest happened that led to the friction, but Kendrick Lamar pulled another king move at Power 105.1’s Powerhouse 2013. He brought Lil’ Kim out to perform during his latest set.
