Six years ago, Lil Wayne and Birdman had many of their hopes pinned on Curren$y. Cash Money Records was going through a rebuilding process and Young Money was making its name with Curren$y as their flagship artist. In the end, Curren$y left before the dream materialized, though he went on to have his own solo success and his relationship with the Cash Money label remained intact. Years after the fact, Curren$y linked up with Lil Wayne and Birdman for his latest record, “442.”
