Papoose disses Kendrick Lamar’s cypher verse on Twitter

Papoose 8A few years ago, Papoose had plenty of underground momentum and a co-sign from mixtape and radio authority, DJ Kay Slay. He looked to be in position to restore the city of New York to hip hop prominence outside of the market. Papoose had a run, a great one at that, but his movement remained underground for the most part.

Starting with the summer, Papoose returned to the headlines when Kendrick Lamar brought him out for his set at Hot 97’s Summer Jam. It turned out, Papoose always had a strong relationship with Kendrick Lamar and TDE. All of this ended when the verse Kendrick Lamar laid on “Control” hit and he called himself king of New York.

Many people originally assumed Kendrick Lamar dissed Drake during his verse for the cypher at the 2013 BET Hip Hop Awards. But, later words from Papoose made people believe it was instead aimed at him. Papoose clearly felt the same way and he took shots at Kendrick Lamar over his verse.
