Before the “New West” became as known as it is now, the Cali Swag District redirected attention back to the West Coast. They changed the sound of what people should expect from an Inglewood-based collective with “Teach Me How to Dougie.” The years since then have been very kind to Cali Swag District.
This summer, Cali Swag District dropped their “Shake Something” single, which features Problem and Tiffany Foxx. With a new project in the works, Cali Swag District decided to come back hard with some up-and-coming heavy-hitters. They have big plans for the “Shake Something” record.
Hip Hop Vibe’s DJ Kid Fresh recently caught up with Cali Swag District at their studio in Inglewood and they spoke on a few things. They spoke on the “Shake Something” record and Jayare seemed excited about doing a video with Tiffany Foxx. M-Bone’s birthday was also mentioned, as was Jayare’s upcoming solo release.
Yung, Smoove, and Jayare all were very optimistic about their future and they see a strong run ahead of themselves as both independent artists and as a collective.
