A few weeks ago, Hip Hop Vibe paid homage to the Oakland hip hop scene with the tribute, Oakland Week. In this week, different aspects of Oakland hip hop were encompassed and there were interviews with Yukmouth and Mistah F.A.B. to go along with it. Among the songs featured in Oakland Week was Luniz’ “I Got 5 on It.”
Luniz consists of Yukmouth and Numskull and they dominated the scene with the release of their single. “I Got 5 on It” held Oakland down and it became a classic, but the song is appreciated all over the world. The only type of fan more avid than music fans are sports fans and they paid homage to all of Oakland for the A’s.
A fan of the Oakland A’s recently posted a photo to his Twitter that showed how big of a fan of the A’s he was. More than a simple A’s fan, this man has to be a native of the city of Oakland or more than a simple sports fan. The back of his jersey has the number “5” and it has “On It” above it.
