The mid-to-late 1990s produced such stars as Jay-Z and Cam’ron, who shaped the game in different ways. Plenty of rappers had unspoken beefs with Jay-Z and among those rumored was Cam’ron. Back in the day, Cam’ron was managed by Lance “Un” Rivera, who was stabbed by Jay-Z, leading to a bit of animosity.
Jay-Z, however, would not focus on the issues with Cam’ron because he was too busy building the Roc-A-Fella dynasty with Damon Dash. Despite what may or may not have been going on with Jay-Z, Damon Dash maintained a strong relationship with his fellow Harlemite, Cam’ron.
When Cam’ron dealt with the Dipset split, he said he sympathized with Jay-Z and expressed interest in working with him. But, once he got his reunion with his crew, Cam’ron reverted back to dissing Jay-Z and it continues to this day. Cam’ron stopped by MTV News this afternoon and he spoke on the “beef” and said his music is not allowed to be played in Jay’s 40/40 Club.
