Given his history, T.I. is probably best to just stay away from the BET Hip Hop Awards. When he was getting prepared for the 2007 BET Hip Hop Awards, T.I. was arrested, leading to his 2010 prison stint. After he got out of that situation, T.I. continued frequenting the BET Hip Hop Awards.
The ceremony is held in Atlanta, which is his hometown. As the King of the South, T.I. feels it’s mandatory for him to be present at all ceremonies held in his hometown. T.I. has pushed himself and his crew and now they have a strong movement as an independent company.
Grand Hustle, rebranded as the Hustle Gang, is hotter now than they’ve ever been. It is because of this why T.I. wanted the label to have their own cypher at the 2013 BET Hip Hop Awards. This didn’t happen, but the A$AP Mob and “The Real Husbands of Hollywood” got a cypher, reportedly angering T.I.
