Projections for Drake’s “Nothing Was The Same” increase to 650,000 and 670,000 in its first week

Nothing Was the SameLast week was a big one for hip hop, as Drake finally released Nothing Was The Same, which came following a lot of momentum. Early in the year, Drake got it started with his single, “Started From the Bottom.” Even though “5 AM in Toronto” wasn’t an album single, it kept the energy going.

Guest verses kept Drake hot throughout 2012 and it kept him going while he put the final touches on Nothing Was The Same. As with every Drake album, he had to drop his song for the ladies. Unlike the stars from years past, Drake actually sings his songs all the way through, evidenced in “Hold On, We’re Going Home.”

Early projections for Nothing Was The Same had the album moving around 470,000 copies in its first week. Now, some later projections have been released and it has a much higher-ranking for the Toronto native. Drake is now projected to sell around 650,000 and 700,000 in his first week.
