Mixtapes have always been an integral part of hip hop and it is how most artists got introduced to the world. Even though mixtapes have become a bit oversaturated in recent years, they still serve as a great device. The addition of the internet has led to such rappers as Tom G getting worldwide recognition through mixtapes.
Tom G is formerly known as Tommy Gunz and he is from Tampa, Florida. Since he has held the scene down for years, he calls himself the king of the city. Shout out to the family, Tampa Mystic. The latest mixtape from Tom G is Skroll Muzik, Vol. 9 (Street Preacha).
The “Talk to Me” track with Gucci Mane introduced this mixtape, which Bigga Rankin and DJ Scream hosted. Those are two names very beneficial for a Southern artist to have behind their tapes. Since he is a legend in Florida, it was a personal pleasure to cover Tom G’s new mixtape, Street Preacha.
