Apparently, no one can stir the hip hop world up the way Kendrick Lamar can. It’s hard to even think that “Control” isn’t even Kendrick Lamar’s song! Big Sean dropped “Control” and Kendrick Lamar is a featured artist alongside Jay Electronica, but most forgot about his verse.

Coinciding with the week Kendrick Lamar had, the sales for good kid, m.A.A.d. city boosted dramatically. good kid, m.A.A.d. ciy is considered by many to be one of the last classic debut albums and it definitely has Kendrick Lamar feeling good. His record sales have continued to skyrocket since he claimed king of New York.

For his efforts, Kendrick Lamar was issued a platinum plaque by Interscope Records and his longtime label, Top Dawg Entertainment. This platinum plaque comes in the midst of a strong run from Kendrick Lamar. Since he is the first rapper to go platinum, outside of Jay-Z, this year, Kendrick Lamar does have a reason to boast.
