Back in 2010, Pusha T signed with G.O.O.D. Music. In the time since then, hip hop fans have eagerly waited for Pusha T to drop his debut album. Several times, Pusha T has spoken on this debut album, which has yet to come. Now, Pusha T is preparing to release My Name is My Name.
Announced late last year, Pusha T is preparing the release of My Name is My Name and the album is coming much later than originally intended. Either way, Pusha T told Esquire Magazine this will be the album of the year. He is confident after seeing what his competition has to offer.
Pusha T also talked to VIBE magazine over the weekend about his new album. In their interview, Pusha T revealed a collaboration that may surprise a lot of people. Famous actor, Joaquin Phoenix, will be among the people contributing to My Name is My Name, which is due later this year.

Pusha T on why his album will be the best of 2013: “Well, I’ve heard a lot of them. And mine is better. [Laughs],” Pusha said. “I just know what I’m looking to bring to the music game, and it’s a certain level of energy. I’ve made the perfect album that I want to put in my car and ride to.”
Pusha T on Kanye West being the executive producer: “Ye is a genius, man. Working under him, being a student, because that’s exactly what I turned into — being a student under his school is a blessing. Somebody who’s in touch and in tune with who I am as an artist — he’s a fan of my work — and trying to expound on that and make that as great as possible, and still knowing how to be unorthodox, and still being Kanye West the mad scientist, the genius guy, and have those elements sprinkled over my hardcore, street rap music — you couldn’t ask for anything else better.”
