You have been doing mixtapes for some time, how do you feel about the mixtape movement? I’m digging the mixtape movement, the mixtapes are what keeps your fan base growing and also keeps you relevant in the streets.

Do you feel as if the mixtapes have replaced albums, or do you think there is room for both? I feel like there’s room for both. The mixtapes are what promotes the albums.

Can you talk about the resurgence of the mixtape DJs in recent years? It’s a new generation and a lot of hard working DJs are starting to earn the respect that they have worked hard for. Salute all the DJs on the day to day grind!

Recently, you released your latest tape, Down South Bangers 24, how do you feel about the progression of the mixtape series? I really like what the Down South Bangers series is doing right now. I started the brand back in 2007. It is a good feeling to see that it is becoming a household name.

Why did you go with Chill Will and Waka Flocka Flame to host the mixtape? Chill Will and Waka are the homies and it was just the right time. Its all about timing they both have an incredible buzz right now and I wanted to build to that and make history.

What is it like to have those guys on your project? It’s a great experience to work with the both of them. Chill Will is on the rise right now, making a lot of noise, and Waka is someone that has been around for some time now. It’s great to keep that type of company around.

Will you be working with them on any future projects? Most definitely. You guys can be on the lookout for a lot of future projects with Waka Flocka and Chill Will.

As far as the Down South Bangers series, what ways do you plan to expand it in the future? As far as the Down South Bangers series, I just plan on putting out more classic material. I’m currently working on Vol. 25, hosted by Rich Homie Quan, so you guys can look out for that coming real soon. We’re also working on the site, apparel, a modeling firm, and a DJ coalition coming soon!

A lot of DJs have dropped singles with several high-profile names this summer, what are some of your plans for the year? I’m actually working on my new street single that is due to be out this summer. I won’t say who is on it, but just know its big stay tuned!
