R.I.P. to Lil Snupe, that murder was shocking, saddening, and the killer was stupid for what he did. With that out of the way, “In the Mix” is back on Desert Storm Radio and the future is the focus people. Building as a family is what is going on at both Desert Storm and Hip Hop Vibe, as DJ YRS Jerzy is collaborating for a joint mixtape.

“In the Mix” is much bigger than a radio show and Desert Storm Radio is not the only home for it. was a brand once used by the team and it is back as a radio station, a new home for “In the Mix.” All of the business is situated, so now the focus is back on the music.

It was hard to not focus on the music this week, because all of the albums the fans wanted finally released. Wale, J. Cole, Kanye West, Mac Miller, and Statik Selektah delivered their albums as promised. Please believe it, they had a major impact on this week’s Top Five and they made it very difficult.

Listen to “In the Mix’s” Top Five Songs of the Week below:

Nas – “Made Nas Proud”

Woah! and I ain’t talking no Black Rob and Diddy in a truck. J.Cole is on a mission right now and his new school grasp of the old school is dope! Nas jumped on the remix and its game over for rap heads.

Lil Snupe – R.N.I.C (Real Nigga In Charge)

Did Preemo just put a whole mixtape in the Top Five? Why yes, yes he did! When a rapper, scratch that ANYONE dies early, and especially someone with this much talent, homage has to be paid to that. R.I.P. Lil Snupe.

Drake ft. Sampha – The Motion

It’s nearly time for that album release and with the track listing already leaked, Drake is not hanging around, dropping two tracks this week this was my stand out. With that bass and classic Drake flow, this is perfect for kicking back at your house, in the car, at the bus stop or wherever you need that rap dose.

Mathematics ft. Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Method Man and Inspectah Deck – “Four Horsemen”

I’ve been waiting for a record like this so long, I feel like I died got mummified and came back to THIS! Go grab it. Go get it. Go back to the golden era!

Chip ft. Naughty Boy “La La La (remix)” [VIDEO]

Okay, so a video is dropped in the weekly Top Five, from time to time, but seriously, if you are from the UK and not heard this remix – actually, scrap that if you are a human being with working ears and eyes then there is no excuse, Tune In, Turn Up.
