With the exception of a few singles, Big Sean has remained relatively silent since the release of “Clique” with Kanye West and Jay-Z. This song became a major hit off the compilation, Cruel Summer. Big Sean later revealed he wanted this single to be the first one off his Hall of Fame album, which was to follow Cruel Summer.

Though Big Sean wanted to release his album in 2012, he did not want to overdo it either, which is what he felt he would have done. With Cruel Summer being frequently delayed throughout the summer and into the fall, Big Sean was put into a tight situation. The work he put into his Detroit mixtape sealed the fate of his album delay.

Keeping his fans updated, Big Sean has released vlogs and they have explained what he is going through at the moment. The latest update is one Big Sean fans have been waiting on for a long time. After many delays and then months of no discussion, Big Sean revealed his Hall of Fame album is due on August 27.
