In recent interviews, Wale has spoken on his status in the rap game and the position he holds on the Washington, DC hip hop scene. Not as hot as he was in 2011, Wale is preparing the release of his third studio album, The Gifted. This new album will follow many major releases.
“Bad” has done very well for Wale, which has been a breakout song. Tiara Thomas was recently replaced on the remix of the single with Rihanna. But, Wale is going to need another strong single to propel his album to the same numbers as his previous album. He is hoping he gets this with “Clappers.”
The new single features Juicy J and Nicki Minaj, both of which are two of the hottest rappers in the game this year. While they continue to work on their projects, they are giving an assist to Wale. “Clappers” was not released tonight, but the official artwork from the single was released today.
