Everything is a competition in hip hop, that’s to be expected. For the past few years, release dates have played an increasingly important part in the game. First week sales appear to be all that mattered. All of the focus is on next week, but this week has some pretty dope releases as well.

There are a lot of albums coming out from some of the many rising rappers in the game and there are also the veterans coming out. Over the past couple of weeks, there have not been any notable albums to be released to the public. Now, this week is stacked to the brim with releases.

HHV New Album Weekly is back like it never left and with releases from the biggest names in hip hop and rising. Today, there are new albums from Prodigy, R&B powerhouse, Chrisette Michele, Emilio Rojas, and Jarren Benton. Check out these albums and decide which ones to buy.

Albert EinsteinProdigy and The Alchemist – Albert Einstein

Two heavyweights in the hip hop world, The Alchemist and Prodigy team up for a new project called Albert Einstein. The first single from the project, “The One,” features rising star, Action Bronson. This track has already been gaining a huge buzz with the hip hop heads. Some other features on the project include Havoc, the other half of Mobb Deep, Roc Marciano, Domo Genesis, and Raekwon to name a few. This sixteen track project is sure to raise some eyebrow and be a breath of fresh air for hip hop lovers.

BetterChrisette Michele – Better

Soulful songstress, Chrisette Michelle, is back with her fourth studio album, titled Better. She has been on the road performing and promoting the singles from her project, “A Couple Of Forevers” and “Let Me Win.” She also released a new single last week which describes a terrible break up she went through, called “Love Won’t Leave Me Out. Keeping most of the album features under wraps Chrisette has boasted publicly about 2 Chainz, Wale, and Bilal being featured on the new project. This is sure to be a summer romance soundtrack for the grown and sexy.

No Shame, No RegretsEmilio Rojas – No Shame, No Regrets

Rochester-bred and New York City led, Emilio Rojas helped to lead this shift back into New York hip hop. Emilio Rojas showed people why he was so popular to begin with on his latest album, No Shame, No Regrets. This album features appearances from Chris Webby, Troy Ave, Iamsu!, Lecrae, and Styles P. The “Lean On ‘Em” single with Styles P, Troy Ave, and Iamsu! has done exceptionally well on the internet and has built momentum for No Shame, No Regrets.

My Grandma's BasementJarren Benton – My Grandma’s Basement

A lot is said about the “New West,” but it seems like people overlook the “New South,” which features such guys as Jarren Benton. He is from the Decatur area in Atlanta and a member of Funk Volume. Today, Jarren Benton released his new album, My Grandma’s Basement. The album features the “Skitzo” single and also the “Razor Blades & Steak Knives” single. Jarren Benton featured his Funk Volume family, Hopsin, Swizz, and Dizzy Wright, along with RA The Rugged Man, Vinnie Paz, Planet IV, and more.
