French Montana talks “Excuse My French” album sales

Boldly, French Montana once proclaimed Excuse My French would sell 200,000 copies in its first week when it was released. During this time, French Montana was the biggest mixtape rapper in the game and the subject of a bidding war. Once he settled into his record deal, French Montana shifted his focus from album sales.

The game has changed a lot and album sales no longer mean as much. Several rappers have built fan bases and fortunes off show money from mixtapes. French Montana has since released Excuse My French and the Coke Boys are all over the place with their releases.

When the first week album sales came out, French Montana only moved 49,000 copies, but the Coke Boys are still the hottest crew in the game. French Montana recently visited Philadelphia and he stopped by Power 99. During his interview with MinaSayWhat, French Montana said he was “not worried” about album sales.
