Earlier this year, Jermaine Dupri was in celebration mode, as he partied because of the twenty years of his So So Def label. A couple years ago, Jermaine Dupri announced his refocus on the label. Since then, a couple songs from Da Brat have come, but nothing concrete from the So So Def brand.

Well-documented has been Jermaine Dupri’s financial situation. As his net worth erodes, his debt increases. In an effort to combat a lot of his debts, Jermaine Dupri has put up the discography of So So Def as collateral. Only worth $5 million, Jermaine Dupri is being sued for $2 million by Sun Trust Bank over upaid debts.

Jermaine Dupri has yet to come up with the $2 million, so it is possible for So So Def’s music to become the property of Sun Trust Bank. The legendary hip hop figure has put up music from Bow Wow, Xscape, and Da Brat as collateral. If he does not come up with the money, Jermaine Dupri will be out of these royalties.
