Bringing New York hip hop back to the forefront, French Montana caused a bidding war with all of the major labels. Receiving great offers from Bad Boy Records and Maybach Music, French Montana kept it local and signed with Diddy. Maintaining a close relationship with Rick Ross, French Montana named him executive producer.

Discussing the album for years, French Montana released Excuse My French. Faced with several delays, French Montana had the opportunity to drop several hit singles. Though he received a lot of backlash for the frequent guests, when asking about the hottest rappers in the game, most fans would say French Montana.

Through it all, French Montana released the Excuse My French album today. In celebration of the album, French Montana held an in-store signing for the project. At the signing where he was meeting with fans, French Montana performed alongside his label-mate, Chinx Drugz.
