Hip hop has been devoid of a female presence for some time and Nicki Minaj has served as the person who has filled this void. Over the past six months, Nicki Minaj has been all over the place. Nicki Minaj made countless headlines upon joining “American Idol” and feuding with Mariah Carey.
When it comes to the music, Nicki Minaj has continued to keep her releases out. Right now, Nicki Minaj remains in the spotlight due to “Freaks” with French Montana. Though it has not been announced, Nicki Minaj is likely to begin working on a new album later this year.
But, Billboard spotlighted Nicki Minaj for her work in 2012. Last year, Nicki Minaj released her Roman Reloaded album and the mini-followup, The Re-Up. Nicki Minaj was up for Top Rap Artist at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards and she came home a winner minutes ago.
