As strange as the turn of events have been, Lupe Fiasco appears to have the makings of being that “album a year” rapper. Taking four years away from the game, during this period of time contemplating suicide, Lupe Fiasco returned in 2011. Forced to take the commercial route by his label, Lupe Fiasco had much commercial success.

Ultimately, Lupe Fiasco returned with Lasers in 2011. The Chicago emcee followed the album up with his 2012 release, Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album, Pt. 1. Evidenced by the title, more albums were set to come in this series, but Lupe Fiasco chose to go a different route.

With the exception of a few hints, Lupe Fiasco has said little to nothing about his 2013 album aside from saying its coming. Earlier today, Lupe Fiasco’s management got on his Twitter and announced they were taking it over. Lupe Fiasco later logged back on and denied this, saying they are on it while he records.
