Despite all the rumors and statements from producers known to work with him, there has been no confirmation on Jay-Z releasing a new album. But, fans and critics alike can agree that it has been entirely too long. Jay-Z last released an album in the fall of 2009 when The Blueprint 3 dropped.
In the past, Jay-Z has gained critical acclaim, but backlash from fellow veteran rappers from New York. During his time as the head of Def Jam, Raekwon was critical of Jay-Z and often voiced his opinion. A lot has changed in the five years since Jay-Z left his position at Def Jam.
Now, it appears that all is well between two of New York’s legends. Recently appearing together in the studio, Raekwon hinted at their being new music in the works. Hearing both Jay-Z and Raekwon on the same track is the dream of most hip hop heads, especially those from the era of the 1990s.
