Since the weather is getting warm, the hip hop world knows what this means. It is almost time for the 2013 BET Awards. Every summer, the season is fully launched when all of the biggest names in urban entertainment share a room for the night. Honoring everyone from movie stars to athletes, to rappers, the BET Awards are a staple.

Over the past year, hip hop has been on overload. Many of the biggest rappers in the game have come together for anthems. Leading on the hip hop collaborations front are such names as Drake, French Montana, and 2 Chainz. Hip hop fans are often on the lookout for the Best Collaboration and Video of the Year.

Recently, the nominees from the 2013 BET Awards were announced to the public. Of course, the list was on hip hop overload. Among the leaders of the nominations are such names as Drake, Kendrick Lamar, and 2 Chainz. Drake is leading the nominations list, as he is up for twelve awards. Meanwhile, the two breakout rookies pop up on second with eight nominations apiece.
