Mannie Fresh talks Drake and Lil Wayne being Big Tymers with MTV’s “RapFix Live” [VIDEO]

Cash Money Records hit rock bottom in 2005 when Mannie Fresh left the label and the roster was left with just Lil Wayne. At the time, it looked like Mannie Fresh was on to bigger and better things, especially after he reached a deal with Def Jam. But, the roles would be reversed.

While Mannie Fresh worked on his new label, Cash Money Records regrouped. Lil Wayne placed focus on Young Money and signed Jae Millz, Tyga, Drake, and Nicki Minaj. The latter three helped put the label on the map. Cash Money Records, itself, also went on a signing spree and even scooped up a few sub-labels.

Mannie Fresh has applauded Cash Money’s success, despite Birdman’s apparent disdain for him. In the past, Mannie Fresh has expressed interest in returning to the label, which seems less likely because of Birdman re-starting the Big Tymers with Drake and Lil Wayne. When he talked to MTV’s “RapFix Live” with Sway Calloway, today, Mannie Fresh said there could be no Big Tymers without him.
