One of the biggest hip hop stories this month has been Kid Cudi’s choice to leave G.O.O.D. Music. Despite being with the label for over five years and maintaining a strong relationship with Kanye West, Kid Cudi decided to leave. The writing has been on the wall for Kid Cudi for some time, as 2 Chainz played a bigger role on Cruel Summer than he.
G.O.O.D. Music has a fast-growing roster and suddenly the small record label has become quite large. When Kanye West reached the label deal with Def Jam, Kid Cudi was not included in the deal. Announcing his departure from the label, Kid Cudi revealed he had a partnership with G.O.O.D. Music.
Kid Cudi recently stopped by MTV and talked to MTV News to talk about his decision to leave G.O.O.D. Music. In the interview, Kid Cudi admitted he was nervous to tell Kanye West he planned to leave the label. Spending over five years with the company, there was a lot of emotion surrounding his departure from the label.
