Over the past month, there has been a lot of discussion about Jay-Z selling his minority ownership stake in the Brooklyn Nets. Working on several other projects, Jay-Z was forced to sell his piece of the Nets to expand his business interests. Jay-Z has plans of going deeper into the sports realm.

Ten years ago, however, Jay-Z found himself in a unique position. Purchasing an ownership stake in the New Jersey Nets, Jay-Z crafted plans to relocate the team to his native Brooklyn. Wanting to get this done by 2010, the Barclays Center in Brooklyn was constructed and completed in 2012.

During their first season in Brooklyn, the Nets made the playoffs for the first time since 2007. Over the weekend, the Brooklyn Nets played their first playoff game, which was a blowout win over the Chicago Bulls. A few years ago, the Bulls were the best team in the NBA, but this is no longer the case and Jay-Z, the soon-to-be sports agent, was loving every minute of it.
