Many of Jay-Z’s biggest hits came with contributions from Young Guru. On many of his songs, Jay-Z will often mention the famed engineer. As he revealed during a recent interview with Sway Calloway, his affiliation with Jay-Z started through his friendship with Memphis Bleek.
Young Guru is much more than an affiliate of Jay-Z, however. While Young Guru does work closely with Jay-Z, he has a lot more going on. During SXSW 2013, Young Guru worked with Kendrick Lamar and facilitated the “Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe” remix that features Jay-Z.
Now, Grammy University is doing the “Era of the Engineer” tour and Young Guru is prominently featured. With Young Guru being on the site, DJ Skee stopped him and talked to him about what he has going. Shouting out DJ Skee, Young Guru spoke on what the tour is all about.
