In 2010, Black Hippy was first introduced to the hip hop world. Jay Rock appeared to be the next rapper up from Los Angeles. At the time, Jay Rock dominated headlines due to his frequent disses to Ice Cube over his I Am the West album title. But, Jay Rock would soon be eclipsed by group-mate, Kendrick Lamar.

Dominating the game, Kendrick Lamar has begun to find himself in the midst of friendly competition with ScHoolboy Q. While ScHoolboy Q is rising, Kendrick Lamar is promoting his new single, “Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe” with Jay-Z. A lot of attention has been placed on the entire Black Hippy and TDE movement.

The entire Black Hippy movement, which also includes Ab-Soul, was present at the 2013 Paid Dues Festival in San Bernadino, California. While at the festival, FUSE TV caught up with Black Hippy. All four of the emcees would talk about the potential of a new album coming out, the current status of Jay Rock, where the “Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe” remix came from, and who the best lyricist is.
