A lot of controversy surrounded MTV’s annual “Hottest MCs in the Game” series, more than usual this year. Kanye West immediately spoke out, feeling he should have been higher on the list and that Lil Wayne should have topped the list. Making it up to the names that did not make the list, there was an honorable mention section.
One name noticeably missing from the list was T.I. In 2012, T.I. did not play much of a part until the latest moments of the year. But, T.I. still had a major impact on the game with his album and has helped to shape the early 2013 moments. T.I. also ventured down to Texas for SXSW 2013.
Not pleased with the list, also, T.I. talked to Sway Calloway, the face of MTV’s “braintrust,” who comes up with the annual list. When asked about “Hottest MCs in the Game,” T.I. went off on a rant and explained all the projects he had in the works. Saying he does not care about the list, T.I. saluted the artists who did make the list.
