The biggest breakout artist from Texas was Kirko Bangz, who was the first rapper to have breakout success in 2012. “Drank in My Cup” became one of 2012’s first hit singles and lasted well into the spring season. Making his rounds, Kirko Bangz was rumored to be a part of Beyonce’s “I Been On”
Though she has been one of the biggest names in music, all-time, Beyonce always looks out for the Texas rappers. On “I Been On,” Beyonce featured Bun B, Slim Thug, Z-Ro, and a few others. One name noticeably missing was Kirko Bangz, one of the XXL Freshmen of the year 2013.
Kirko Bangz recently talked to DJ Moondawg and DJ A-Oh with WGCI. Currently preparing his new single, Kirko Bangz talked about his Bigger Than Me album. In addition to the album, Kirko Bangz spoke on his XXL placement and not being included on Beyonce’s remix, which he felt was disrespectful.
