For various reasons and rightfully so, Kendrick Lamar is credited as the savior of the hip hop scene in Los Angeles. Kendrick Lamar is among many other rising West Coast rappers, but he rose above all of them. A co-sign from Game led to Kendrick Lamar becoming a favorite of many other West Coast veterans.
Kendrick Lamar is a member of Top Dawg Entertainment, a company originally headlined by Jay Rock. But, with Kendrick Lamar’s explosion and ascent to the top of the game, he has taken that role. Behind Kendrick Lamar, ScHoolboy Q has become the next-biggest rapper in the game.
Another reason for TDE to celebrate came when Kendrick Lamar won MTV’s “Hottest MCs in the Game” countdown. ScHoolboy Q also was on the MTV set when Kendrick Lamar appeared. Taking the couch across from Sway Calloway, ScHoolboy Q gave a brief interview to the popular “RapFix Live.” Talking about “Hottest MCs in the Game,” ScHoolboy Q admitted he felt he should have been on top of the much-discussed list.
