Back in 2010, Nicki Minaj made her mainstream debut and it coincided with Lil’ Kim’s comeback. At the time, fans had grown impatient waiting on Lil’ Kim to release her long-awaited comeback album. Seeing how female emcees had struggled over the previous years, most hip hop fans were excited about Nicki Minaj.
Lil’ Kim, on the other hand, was thoroughly unimpressed. Despite Nicki Minaj often crediting Lil’ Kim as inspiration, the Queen Bee called her out. Nicki Minaj wears sexy outfits similar to those Lil’ Kim made famous and she decided she wanted her style back. Initially, Nicki Minaj did not respond to the disses from Lil’ Kim until she had enough and sounded off on her.
In 2011, Lil’ Kim made a strong comeback based on her feud with Nicki Minaj. Failing to release a new album, though, Lil’ Kim decided to take 2012 off. Back, Lil’ Kim has returned in 2013 with her new artist, Tiffany Foxx. This week, Tiffany Foxx has been everywhere, including Hot 97. Talking to Peter Rosenberg, Lil’ Kim was angry when he brought Nicki Minaj up, giving the rivals a mutual dislike in Rosenberg.
