Mr. Magic, formerly of No Limit Records, dies from car crash injuries

New Orleans has gone through a drastic evolution. Many first began paying attention to the hip hop scene in New Orleans when Master P took No Limit Records to the top of the game. C-Murder, Soulja Slim, Mystikal, and Mr. Magic were among the New Orleans artists introduced via Master P.

Old school New Orleans hip hop has been making a strong comeback. Returning following a decade out of rotation, Turk featured New Orleans legends, UNLV, Juvenile, and Mannie Fresh on Blame It on the System. Indeed 2013 looked to be a major year for the New Orleans hip hop world and still will be.

However, Mr. Magic will noticeably be absent. Earlier today, saddening news about the veteran New Orleans rapper leaked to the internet. While riding with his wife and daughter through Mississippi, Mr. Magic got in a fatal car accident, instantly killing both he and his wife, but his daughter survived the crash.
