New York hip hop began showing signs of life in 2010. In the time since Jay-Z “retired,” the hip hop scene in New York City struggled. But, Nicki Minaj helped reinvent the scene before signing with Young Money. French Montana would follow Nicki Minaj to superstardom and then there was A$AP Rocky, and now Joey Bada$$.
“Real” hip hop fans credit Joey Bada$$ for the continued effort of bringing lyricism to hip hop. Among the others credited are Kendrick Lamar, who revealed he is a Joey Bada$$ fan during his Hot 97 interview. In addition to causing a bidding war with his music and his Pro Era crew, Joey Bada$$ also is Ecko’s creative director.
When Joey Bada$$ last linked up with FUSE TV, he took them on a tour through his work. While Joey Bada$$ has taken the game over, his side hustle is the Ecko job and he is making designs for the clothing giant. Joey Bada$$ showed FUSE TV the designs he made for the clothes.
