Suddenly, New York City has several new stars. French Montana ushered the city out of the dark ages in 2011. A$AP Rocky rose to stardom in 2012. Now, Joey Bada$$ has risen to become a third leader of the new school in 2013.
Joey Bada$$ hails from Brooklyn, the borough of Jay-Z and The Notorious B.I.G. Making such a major impact, the labels began expressing interest in signing Joey Bada$$. Rumors had Joey Bada$$ headed to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation, which he denied.
Now, Joey Bada$$ has gone into a deep explanation. FUSE TV had the opportunity to sit Joey Bada$$ down and he explained why he is not with Roc Nation. Five years ago, Jay-Z formed this “super label” and they are behind many of the biggest acts. But, the Pro Era leader has decided he would much rather handle things on his own for the time being.
