Close to a decade ago, Jennifer Lopez had several hip hop hits under her belt. Jennifer Lopez found herself in need of hits and she soon found help in the form of Ja Rule. Throughout the 2001-2002 period, Jennifer Lopez and Ja Rule had a nice string of hits. Eventually replaced by her then-songwriter Ashanti, Jennifer Lopez returned to the big screen.
Times have changed and Ja Rule is no longer hip hop’s hit king. The baton has been passed down the line and now belongs to Maybach Music. However, the actual Ja Rule void has been filled by popular Atlanta rapper, Future. As Ja Rule was, Future is immensely popular, but comes under fire for his decision to sing his lyrics, as opposed to rapping them.
Planning to consistently put out music, Future’s career is beginning to mirror Ja Rule’s in many ways. Currently working on his sophomore album, Future has several R&B collaborations under his belt. Now, Future has been photographed sharing studio time with Jennifer Lopez and this can only mean there are more collaborations in the works.
