No independent artist has been able to accomplish all that Mac Miller has. Without a major label deal, Mac Miller has had a chart-topping album and next up he plans to take on the role of reality television star. After gaining YouTube fame, Mac Miller became a fixture on MTV2, now they have something more formal in the works.
Rappers on reality television have become very prominent. During the summer, fans had the chance to see Kanye West on E!’s “Keeping Up with the Kardashians.” Currently, fans are seeing Consequence, Joe Budden, and Lore’l on VH1’s “Love & Hip Hop.” But, those who liked seeing Kanye on screen will have to make the memories last.
Preparing to become the new face of MTV2, Mac Miller talked to MTV News about his upcoming show. Tonight, “Mac Miller and the Most Dope Family” premieres, but before the show, Mac Miller talked about his reservations. Initially a skeptic, Mac Miller said he was no Kanye West when it came to reality television, he was too boring.
