Things went from bad to worse for Ja Rule and he ended up releasing his lowest-selling album while behind bars, one year ago. There were several comebacks in 2012 and the most-overlooked was Ja Rule’s. Once considered the biggest rapper in the game, Ja Rule has a lot of ground to cover.

Earlier this month, Ja Rule’s Twitter revealed he would be released from prison today, which is the case. Back in 2007, both Ja Rule and Lil Wayne were arrested for possession of both guns and drugs. The two spent the night in jail and Ja Rule soon was sentenced to prison for back taxes.

Today, Ja Rule was released from prison, but he was slated to go straight from prison to begin serving his sentence for tax evasion. Owing $1.1 million in back taxes, Ja Rule is ready to get back to his life. Missing so much, Ja Rule wants to put out new music and get back to his family, watching his daughter graduate.

However, Ja Rule is leaving prison for his gun charge and will be free at the nearest possible date.
