During the last wave of new stars, Drake, J. Cole, and Nicki Minaj were produced. There were several delays before J. Cole took his rightful position in the game. As the first artist signed to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation, there was quite a bit of pressure on J. Cole to deliver the best possible album.

Initially, J. Cole hoped to release his sophomore album in 2012. However, J. Cole ultimately ended up being pushed back to 2013. When he failed to deliver his sophomore album in January, J. Cole released his EP, Truly Yours. Currently, J. Cole is pushing his new single, “Power Trip.”

When J. Cole was last in Los Angeles he talked about the Truly Yours EP with Power 106’s popular series, “L.A. Leakers.” During the interview, J. Cole also talked about why he did not tweet “lights please” after Beyonce’s Super Bowl performance. With tensions high between Roc Nation and Young Money, J. Cole talked about Drake buying shots for both Jay-Z and Beyonce during the All-Star break in Houston.
